Celebrity Cruises opens bookings for Celebrity Xcite’s debut season

Celebrity Cruises has officially begun accepting bookings for the first season aboard its new Celebrity Xcite cruise ship, which will begin sailing in 2028.

The Celebrity Xcite will begin sailing seven-night Caribbean journeys out of Miami when it debuts, with some reports stating departures will begin in November 2028.

    Where will Celebrity Xcite sail?

The debut season will feature rotating itineraries that will take travelers from Miami to St. Thomas, Antigua, the British Virgin Islands, St. Kitts and Nevis, St. Maarten and the Dominican Republic.

The cruise line says travelers can expect white-sand beaches, turquoise water and natural landmarks like the Baths at Virgin Gorda, a stretch of shoreline in the British Virgin Islands known for its massive granite boulders.

Inaugural sailings on the new ship went on sale Nov. 3. Celebrity says that Caribbean season will be its most expansive yet.

The Xcite is the sixth Edge class cruise ship for Celebrity; the Edge class is the high-end and most luxury of the cruise line’s fleet of ships. All of its Edge Series ships are built at Chantiers de l’Atlantique shipyard in Saint-Nazaire, France.

The new Edge Series ship will join nine other Celebrity ships in the region during the 2028 and 2029 seasons, sailing from four Florida ports and Puerto Rico. Half of those 10 ships belong to the Edge Series, the most Celebrity has ever had in the Caribbean, officials said.

What else is new for Celebrity Cruises in the Caribbean?

Celebrity officials say a new experience will be offered in the Caribbean during the 2028-29 season. For the first time ever, an Edge Series ship will offer short cruises when the Celebrity Beyond begins sailing nine three-night weekend trips from Fort Lauderdale to the Bahamas between November 2028 and March 2029.

It’s an important new offering for Celebrity, as the Caribbean is one of its prime sailing locations.

“The Caribbean is our guests’ favorite place to vacation,” said Celebrity Cruises President Laura Hodges Bethge. “Whether it’s a long-awaited island getaway or a spontaneous weekend escape, we are creating new and fresh ways for guests to experience the region with Celebrity Cruises.”

During the 2028-29 Caribbean season, the Celebrity Eclipse will also offer weekend getaways from Fort Lauderdale, while Celebrity Summit will sail four- and five-night trips from Miami. Some journeys will include stops at Royal Caribbean’s Royal Beach Club Paradise Island in Nassau.

Xcite is the sister ship to Celebrity Xcel, which began sailing in November 2025. Its name was revealed last October during a ceremony at the shipyard.

A full list of the upcoming offerings in the Caribbean can be found here.

When do Celebrity’s 2028 Caribbean cruises go on sale?

Winter 2028-29 Caribbean sailings, including Xcite’s inaugural season, went on sale Nov. 3. Summer 2028 Caribbean sailings go on sale Dec. 9.
